Dr Olusiji Sanya won the Black British Business Award in 2019 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s in International Finance and a PhD in Economics and Finance. He previously worked on the Commodities Research desk at Goldman Sachs and at BP PLC on the Oil trading desk as an Econometrician. He was a consultant to the commonwealth secretariat on public finance management. He is the Chief Financial Officer and Co-founder of Tranzfar an outstanding Africa focused money transfer service, currently focused on multi directional money transfers between the United Kingdom, EU countries, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
David Owumi is the CEO and founder of Qinq a company which focuses on environmental sustainability. David is a prospective PhD researcher of the University of Bradford and an aspiring professor of Inclusion & Circular Economy. He is an inclusive development advocate whose interests crisscross between entrepreneurship and sustainable (inclusive) development. He has a bachelor’s in mathematics, master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Bradford where he graduated with distinction and was awarded the Deans prize and social ambassadors prize for services to students and the community. As a result of his community development and impact in the city of Bradford, he was one of the young leaders chosen to meet His Majesty King Charles III in Bradford on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
Chidi Akunna is a qualified and practising solicitor with Elkettas & Associates and has worked with different firms to gain specialist legal experience in key areas of law. Chidi is passionate about preserving human dignity through her legal and volunteering work with various charities. To further grow her knowledge, she pursued Master’s degree in Maritime Law at the University of Nottingham and Masters in Family Law at City University London, where she also completed her Legal Practice Course. Due to the busy nature of the firm, she currently works with, she is exposed to a good number of cases in speciality areas such as Litigation, Conveyancing, Family and Immigration Law, and absolutely loves it. She coaches and supervises solicitor trainees on training contract and loves the transformation she sees in people who were once like her, but now have so much experience.
Irene Eribo- Ani is the organiser and co-founder of the UK Career festival. She is a community activist and advocate of various youth empowerment projects. She is the founder of Ebony Ambassadors UK, Ebony Global Skill Empowerment Initiative Nigeria, and Co-founded Nigerian Festival UK. She has created a unique Organisation borne from a vision of the realisation that every young person should aim to become Independent through skills acquisition. She has organised hundreds of successful skills empowerment workshops in London, Bradford, Birmingham, and different African Countries. She is a multiple award winner and has been featured in over 50 news outlets. Irene wears many hats as a Trainer, Workshop Facilitator, Mentor, Stylist, Event Planner, Correspondent, Human right activist, and Women’s development specialist. She has managed several projects with grants worth over £180,000.
Dr Jenny Epoyun-William is the organiser and co-founder of the UK Career Festival. Jenny has an LLB, LLM in International Commercial law world trade speciality and a PhD in Business and management. Jenny is a Law lecturer, a Barrister and Solicitor of Nigeria and is passionate about education, corporate and charity governance, ethnic minority entrepreneurship and widening participation. She has expertise in coaching learners and professionals to achieve career and business goals. During the pandemic, she founded a writing group on the Facebook platform of Professor Rowena Murray (expert on academic writing and retreats). Many colleagues requested feedback on CVs, cover letters, and supporting statements, which led to the establishment of MidPoint. She turned the pains of numerous job rejections as a former UK international student into a positive by becoming a career and business coach and a widening participation advocate.
Ernest Obu-Cann is a KTP Business Analyst at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Ernest has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics and master’s degrees in Economics and Finance for Development (University of Bradford) and Digital Business (University of Salford). He has worked with different teams to achieve major BA milestones and has guided organisations move from their current business performance to desired or expected performance.
